We all know we shouldn’t drink and drive, but sometimes life just happens. Sometimes it’s controlled substances such as the now-legal marijuana, or even prescription drugs. We understand about circumstances that are sometimes beyond our control here at the Law Office of Orlando R. Rodriguez and we can help. If you’re facing a charge for Driving While Intoxicated/Driving Under the Influence, call us at 973-804-5032 and let us help you sort out what it all means.
Will I lose my license? Well, for alcohol related offenses it depends on your Blood Alcohol Level (“BAC”). In New Jersey, if you are driving with a BAC over 0.08 you are considered driving while intoxicated. Depending on the circumstances you MAY be able to keep your license. You will need to install an ignition interlock device which will not let you start your car’s engine if it senses alcohol on your breath. If your BAC is 0.15 or above, however, you may lose your license for a period of four to six (4-6) months. Every case is different. Call us at 973-804-5032 so we can discuss your specific situation. And most importantly, stay calm. Let US do the worrying for you. This too will pass.
